I am having a hard time keeping up now that we are in Guangzhou. We are so much busier. I am also sleeping until about 4:00 a.m. Where in province I was awake by 2:30a.m., often sooner.
Saturday we began our day with the most delicious breakfast at the Garden Hotel. Dallas brought me a waffle with peanut butter sauce on it. If I wasn't sold on the Garden Hotel before this did me in. Why don't we have this at home? The beef bacon is delicious too. So many choices here at the Garden. Breakfast is always our big meal of the day since it is included with the room. We will eat out one other meal and then have peanut butter sandwiches or noodles for the 3rd meal.
During breakfast we met one of my fb friends. She is the one who pushed for us to travel now during the trade show. I am so thankful to her! It was been awesome hanging out with her,her husband and adorable 2 year old daughter since we have been in Guangzhou. Adoption brings so many people together from all over the world.
After breakfast we met our agency's group here in Guangzhou. It consist of us, the family I mentioned above and 1 other family. I had also corresponded with the other family by email before coming. The mom wasn't able to come but it was nice meeting the rest of them. We have a great little group!
We boarded the van to go to the U.S. medical clinic here in Guangzhou. Upon arrival each child was photographed for their visa. Then they had to go to 3 stations: 1)height,weight,temperature 2)ENT 3) general doctor who examines her. Alyssa was not pleased from the very start. We had never seen her cry so much or be so upset. She was kicking the doctors. We hope she does better next week when we take her to see Dr. Artman. New since we got Grace is all children over the age of 2 have to get a TB test. Needless to say Alyssa was not pleased with that either. By the time we left Alyssa was back to get happy self.
We arrived back at the hotel around lunch time. The Coriells and us decided to try out the Mexican restaurant we had heard so much about. Might not have been the best Mexican food but it sure did taste delicious after the food we had the past week. We were delighted to run into our Nanchang airport friends there so we were able to exchange email addresses and snap a photo.
We headed back to the hotel to get directions to a grocery store. Fortunately it's not far away but you do have to cross over the road which equates to lots of stairs. Fortunately they had everything we needed.
Back to the room so Alyssa could take a nap and Dallas and the girls went to the pool. Alyssa is not allowed to swim until her TB test is read. This time the girls were allowed to swim and had a blast!
After our peanut sandwich dinner we explored the hotel grounds. They have a beautiful garden. A little odd because we had to cut through the restaurant to get there.
Then I crashed. I still can't seem to stay up past 8:00. I am definitely getting enough sleep it is just at different hours.
