Today we went to the First Annual Dragon Boat Festival in Cary today.  We had lots of fun.  The kids enjoyed their Tiawanise lunch.   We enjoyed watching an Indian Dance too.

Day 117

It was time for a midweek escape.  We went to Great Wolf Lodge for 1 night.  The boys had never been.  They had so much fun.  Caleb was refusing to leave.  I will try and add more photos later.

Day 115

Yesterday at the park Alyssa asked me to a picture of her glasses.  I think she was trying to distract me from taking anymore pictures of her.

365 Day Photo Challenge

Day 112

Trying out a different technique.  It is called shooting from the hip.  You set all the settings and take the photo from your hip and hope you get something good.   Ideal for use in situations where you can't have the camera in your face or don't want people to know you are taking a photo.  I hadn't heard of this until yesterday.  Definitely something I plan to use often in the future. This first photo is my photo for the day.  The second one is a bonus.

Alyssa and Caleb

I thought these were a funny series of photos and too cute not to share.

Day 109

These two have come a long ways.  Just a year ago they couldn't be left for 1 second alone.  Now they are friends.  Alyssa still tries to get the boys in trouble but at least we do not have to worry about her trying to harm one of them.

North Carolina State Farmer's Market

We can't believe that it took us eight years to go to the North Carolina's State Farmer's Market.  We had heard good things about it but never took the time to go.  The last two Saturdays we have spent the morning there.  We plan to continue going on Saturday mornings whenever we are in town.  In the back there is a wholesale building.  That is where the deals are found.

Day 105

Another Saturday morning trip to the Farmer's market.  We will most likely be going every week that we can.  These watermelons were $1.50 each.  We got a huge bag of potatoes for $2.00 and approximately 100 apples for $15.00.  I will be doing lots of baking this week.

Day 104

Nicholas came home from college this weekend.   I was joking with him about a girl he talks about often.   He went to his younger sisters' room and wrote this note.  He was imitating notes his sisters have written in the past.

Day 98

It was our first trip to the State Farmer's Market.  We will definitely be going back.  See that big box of bananas the girl to the side of my daughter is holding? It was only $1.00. We were also able to get a small watermelon and a quart of strawberries for $1.00.

Last two started school today.  Alyssa will be going to preschool 2 days a week.  She missed the cut-off for Kindergarten by 38 days.  Julia will be homeschooled this year.
