Dossier to Agency

No, we are not DTC yet but we are getting there.  Our dossier left via fedex to make its long trek to our agency in California.  It will be there tomorrow.  Dossiers from our agency are sent to China on Friday.   Praying I didn't make any mistakes and everything looks good so we can be DTC on February 1.

January Gift Exchange

I am loving this gift exchange!  Here are the gifts the boys and I received this month.  The toys and cups will be great to put in their backpacks for the trip home.  I especially love the t-shirt!

Documents Mailed to Courier

Let's start with some photos.  This were from July.  Aren't they adorable?  Sure wish we could decide on names for them.  If we go with Oliver and Hudson, the top photo is Oliver and the bottom photo is Hudson.  Just not sure that is what we want to name them.  We always have a difficult time with names.

Our 4 documents were mailed to the courier in Washington D.C. today.  Friday she will drop them off at the U.S. Department of State for their official seal, middle of next week she will pick them up and take them to the Chinese Embassy.  We were able to expedite the Chinese Embassy so it should just take 24 hours there.  End of next week, beginning of the next week they should be headed back to us.  Goal is to have them to our china coordinator by January 31 which would allow us to be DTC(dossier to china) on February 1.

Great Couple of Days

Yesterday we received the news that our Supplement 3 and extension had been approved on January 11 by USCIS and was on the way back to us.  January 11 was my niece's 21st birthday and my nephew's 20th birthday.  What a special day in turned out to be for all of us.  Of course Dallas and I didn't even know until yesterday but nonetheless what a great day!

We received an update on the boys yesterday, too.  It was just a one page document from August but we were still excited to have any new information.  One of the boys is really into music.  He will definitely fit in here.  Dallas and Zachary will have him playing an instrument in no time.  His brother which they always refer to as the older brother seems to be the protector and always wants to make sure his little brother has food.  There is no way for them to know who is older so it is kind of funny that they always refer to one as the older brother.  We did get updated measurements.  In August it looks like they were the same size that Alyssa is now.

Today was a busy day. It began by creating the few documents we need to reuse our dossier.  Had to get those and a copy of our USCIS approval notarized.  Dropped them off at the Secretary of State Office to be authenticated.  We can pick them up tomorrow and send them to a courier in Washington D.C. to walk them through the rest of the authentication process.  It appears this can't be done quite as quickly as it could last year.  It still may a couple of weeks before we can be DTC(Dossier to China). That's okay.  Progress is a wonderful thing!!!

Gift Exchange

If you read Alyssa's blog you know I love mail.  Very rarely is anyone allowed to get the mail except me.  Everyone knows that if they get the mail they aren't allowed to look at it.  I have to be the first one to see the mail everyday.  Don't know why but have been that way since I was a child.

Instead of secret pals one of the groups I am in does monthly gift exchanges.  Instead of it being a secret and a long term commitment you just sign up each month that you want to participate and each month you get a different name.  Some months have themes some don't.  December was the first month I was able to participate.  I received my gift yesterday. It was a little late due to illness, holidays, etc.  That didn't bother me at all. I was just so excited to get some mail.  Even better it was mail for our boys.

I have only bought the boys 1 pair of pants, 1 shirt, and a few cars.  Not 1 pair of pants and 1 shirt for each of them just one.  I was so excited to open my package and find these coats, trucks, books, and a Thirty One bag for them.  It makes it seem more real that we will be bringing them home.

Oops!! We did it again and again!!

We are adopting twin boys! If you care to follow along our new blog is http://ourspecialblessingmultiplied.blogspot.com/ .  Hope to see you there!

Our Boys

Welcome to our blog.  I decided to go ahead and make our blog public.  For the last few months I have just been writing to myself.  Definitely has some benefits... didn't have to worry about spelling mistakes, grammar, or my words offending anyone.

If you want to see the story about how we found the boys go back to the first post.  It is a letter(with a few spelling mistakes and grammatical errors)that I posted when we first found out the boys were going to be ours.  It pretty much sums up the story of our journey to them.

Our boys will be 3 on February 3.  We still have not decided on names for them.  Please feel free to offer any suggestions.  We would prefer if their name didn't start with an A, D, G, J, K, N, or Z.  Those letters are already taken in our family.  Right now the favorites are Jacob and Caleb(I know it breaks the rules) or Oliver and Hudson.  Oliver and Hudson are the names they were given by the first agency that tried to place them. Wish I knew if there was a story behind the names.  We are leaning towards Oliver and Hudson at the moment because they are different names that you don't hear a lot plus they fit into our not using one of the letters already in our family.

We are still hoping to travel this summer. Dallas will not be going this time.  He is going to stay home and man the fort.  My faithful sidekick Zachary is definitely traveling with me.  He has proven he can handle the trip and is very helpful.  My sister plans to go too.  I am looking forward to her experiencing China with me.  It is extra special having her there since our mom was a twin and we are getting our twins.

Fingerprinted

Happy to say Dallas, Kristopher, and I have all been fingerprinted.  Now we wait for approval. Our officer said to call her once we were all fingerprinted.  Left a message with her this afternoon so hopefully she will get to our application soon and approve us.

I mentioned this when we were fingerprinted for Alyssa but wanted to mention again.  The people at the Durham USCIS are the nicest people.  I just can't believe how nice they are compared to Charlotte when we went there in 2007 for Grace.  It is so nice not feeling like a criminal when you come out of a government office.

Been a Long Time

It has been a long time.  No real news to report.  We were in Florida for Christmas.  We were expecting to have our fingerprint appointments when we returned home.  No such luck. Dallas has his but Kristopher and I don't. We can't get them until we have the appointment letter.  Our officer said they would be going out soon but I am not so sure.  She did say we could check back next week if we haven't received them yet.  So we wait some more...
