Hole in One

With all that has been going on the last few weeks I forgot to post this. The last time I was in Florida Nicholas and Dallas played a round of golf. Nothing unusual there. They do that all the time. When they reached the second hole Nicholas actually made a hole in one. Dallas and Nicholas were quite shocked and were dancing on the green. Remember this is a golf course not a putt-putt course. I don't think anyone in my family has ever gotten a hole in one- a 97 yard, Par 3 to be exact. Nicholas had his scorecard signed by the ranger and by the pro at the golf course. It was probably in the papers but we were out of town and forgot to check.
That's my boy!

Home Again

Sorry no special Father's Day post this year. My Dad and Dallas are the two best Dads I know so what more is there to say. We spent the day driving from Florida to North Carolina. Good to be home but sad to not be in Florida with Mom and Dad.

When I get the chance I will post some pictures from Disney. After going to Fuzhou and Guangzhou,China last August Florida doesn't seem quite so hot anymore. We were glistening alittle but who had time to think about that when there was Buzz Lightyear to ride and princesses to see.

Julia Graduates and Other Musings

As I am typing this my little girl is graduating from preschool. I am so sorry I wasn't able to attend. Thankfully, Julia understands and I will get to see her tonight. When we moved to North Carolina we knew that there would be times when I would have to miss occasions such as this. It doesn't make it any easier but we have had to accept that it was the price we had to pay for Dallas to keep his job.

Back to the important part, Julia is graduating. She has come a long way this year. Julia struggles with memory, fine motor skills, and is very behind developmentally. She should have gone to Kindergarten last year but we felt she just wasn't ready. She still may not be ready but we are ready to fight Wake County to get all the services she needs. She has progressed so much this year and can't wait to see her blossom even more in Kindergarten.

Julia, Nicholas, Kristopher and Dallas are heading to Florida right after graduation. Dallas has a conference in Orlando the rest of the week so we are going with him. The kids and I are excited about spending a few days there. Magic Kingdom here we come.

Congratulations, Julia! Mommy loves you and can't wait to give you a big hug.

One More High School Graduate in the Family

Congratulations, Leigh-Anne! My neice graduated from high school yesterday. Their ceremony was held in the St. Augustine Amphitheater. It was a very nice ceremony. Leigh-Anne is off to University of Central Florida in the fall. We are very proud of her.

Congratulations, Kristopher!

Tonight we went to Fuquay Varina High School's award ceremony for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Only 75 kids students had been invited out of 1900. Kristopher was being honored for his score on The National Spanish Exam. He was in the top 2% of the country and the highest score at his high school. He received a framed certificate and a medal to wear when he graduates. We would not have been surprised for Kristopher to get an award in Math or Science but never would have guessed he would be so good in Spanish. He has become really interested in language. He would really like to take another foreign language but can't fit it in his schedule next year. Way to go, Kristopher!

Happy Birthday, Maribeth!

Maribeth left the teenage years behind today. She is now 20 years old. Maribeth has been staying with us the last week and a half. Today for her birthday we went to church, she got her haircut, we both got pedicures and manicures and then we went to a Brazilian steakhouse. It was delicious. We even tried alligator and lamb. I can't say I liked either one but at least I tried them.
